The Arab International Roaming Working Group holds its meeting in Manama, Bahrain in the period from 19 to 20 November 2007. On the first day, all stakeholders and consultants concerned with international roaming will convene to exchange viewpoints and opinions, whereas the second day’s meeting will be attended by the members of the Arab Regulators Network of telecommunications and information technologies (ARNET) only.
The Kingdom of Bahrain had invited the stakeholders for the meeting as it took over the presidency of the ARNET to which the International Roaming Working Group is affiliated.
The Working Group is competent to regulate international roaming service and the preparation of the needed studies on the most appropriate methods that regulate the service tariffs among the member states.
It is worth mentioning in this respect that TRA Bahrain hosted the ARNET’s fourth meeting on 23 May 2007. During that meeting, it took over the presidency of the ARNET for a period of one year as per Clause 4 of Article 18 of the ARNET’s regulations that stipulated that the presidency of the ARNET should rotate among Arab regulators according to alphabetical order.
