A high-level delegation, led by Dr. Amr Badawi, the executive president of the NTRA, is heading towards South Africa to take part in the WTSA-2008, due from 20 to 30 October 2008.
The meeting will be preceded by the one-day Global Standards Symposium, which will bring together all major ICT standards makers to discuss bridging the standardization gap and improving collaboration to achieve this objective.
The WTSA is one of the highly important ITU meetings, and therefore Egypt has always been keen to take part effectively in all its activities.
Prior to the meeting, Egypt managed to coordinate viewpoints and exchange opinions with the Arab countries during the Arab Standardization Working Groups meetings that were held in Syria last July, coming up with one consolidated Arab vision to be supported during the WTSA.
It is worth mentioning in this regard that Dr. Sherif Guenina was selected as a vice president for the SG2 and he is the current president of the SG2-RG-ARB.
