The NTRA has granted a one-year license for Aeromobile, the pioneering provider of mobile phone services to airlines and which is a joint venture of Telenour and ARINIC, to provide GSM services within range of 1800 MGHz on board aircrafts registered in Egypt while passing the Egyptian Air zone. The license allows the company to provide voice and text services after take-off and over the height of 6000 meters.
The license guarantees no-intervention with the different navigation systems or the ground networks.
Aeromobile provides in-flight mobile services in a number of countries such as United Arab Emirates, Jordan, the United States of America, Itlay, Germany, Croatia, Czech, Armenia and Belgium.
It is worth mentioning in this regard that the NTRA has granted a license for Connexion by Boeing (CBB) to provide telecom services on board aircrafts that pass the Egyptian air zone or land in Egyptian airports. Services licensed include video conference services, internet services and watching some video and audio channels.
