National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA), as a representative in Egypt participated in the 22nd meeting of the Arab Spectrum Management Group (ASMG) in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates during the period from 15 to 20 April 2017. The meeting is mainly aimed at setting out a unified Arab position on the agenda items of the World Radiocommunication Conference that will be held in 2019 (WRC-19), in Egypt. It is worth mentioning that WRC-19 will consider several technical and regulatory issues related to the global distribution of radio communication services in different frequency bands. Chief among the topics discussed in the meetings was the provision of new frequencies for the development of mobile services as they are key to sustainable development and building a knowledge-based economy.
The meeting was attended by senior official and executives as representatives of the regional teams interested in the field of spectrum management and the Activities of ASMG.
