In order to boost cooperation with African countries, especially the Nile Basin countries, robust relations have been established with the Ugandan side in the field of cyber security. This has been reflected in Uganda Computer Emergency Response Team(UG-CERT)'s selection of the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST). Hence so a team of Egyptian experts will make a visit to the headquarters of the UG-CERT in the period from 27 to March 29, 2017, to help the Ugandan side activate the most significant procedures of its membership requirements related to Uganda's acceptance in FIRST.
This highlights the significance of Egyptian participation, as this participation helps NTRA to strengthen the leading role of Egypt in the African Continent and consolidate relations with the Nile Basin countries, and Egypt's relations with international organizations and entities involved in eradicating cyber-attacks. It is worth mentioning that he had already made the Egyptian CERT team made an assessment of the readiness of the State of Tanzania in 2014 through similar tests after the Tanzanian side had selected the Egyptian CERT team to evaluate those tests and eventually Tanzania Computer Emergency Response Team (TZ-CERT) has won the membership in the Global Forum for emergency centers in 2015, which endorses the leadership of Egypt in the African continent.
