ITU-R will organize the meetings of Working Parties 4A, 4B and 4C that carry out studies on Questions assigned to Study Group (SG) 4 of ITU radio sector, which will be attended by the Egyptian administration represented by the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) in the period from 10 to 27 October 2017 in Geneva, Switzerland. This Study Group focuses on systems and networks for the fixed-satellite service, mobile-satellite service, broadcasting satellite service and radiodetermination-satellite service.
In view of the increasing demand for radiocommunication services using satellite systems and within the framework of the competitiveness of satellite services and the role of international coordination between administrations and operators in order to facilitate reporting procedures and technical coordination of frequency and orbital locations to provide a climate free from harmful interference that may hinder such services usage. NTRA participated in the preparation of several technical contributions and studies in the framework of these working parties as it has been representing the Arab and African working groups during the last few years. This led to the attainment of many achievements in the field of space services which had a positive impact on the Egyptian administration. Meetings and discussion sessions are carried out by various dedicated working groups that hold parallel meetings to finalize the preparation of the required studies and prepare reports on agenda items of the Conference during the time period specified for the meeting. The representatives of the Egyptian administration will participate in the technical studies of several items of the WRC-19 agenda.
