National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA), in collaboration with Oman National Computer Emergency Readiness Team (OCERT) and ITU Arab Regional Cybersecurity Center (ITU-ARCC) are hosting the Regional Cyber Drill ALERT (Applied Learning for Emergency Response Teams) third edition for Arab Region in in Hurghada, Egypt in the period from 17 to 19 May 2015.
In addition, ITU-ARCC conducts a Regional Workshop on Critical National Infrastructure Protection on 20 and 21 May 2015 in the same venue.
This workshop is held within the framework of Egypt's interest of the development and enhancement of cyber-security policies, and NTRA's experts belief in the necessity of consolidation of the relations with its counterparts in the Arab countries in this regard, especially with the growing regional threats to the Internet and the emergent perils and risks resulting from these threats.
It is scheduled that the participating teams will examine a realistic simulation of a number of attacks and threats case studies and real-life situations that provide them with an opportunity to test their skills and knowledge in responding to such attacks in a way that eliminates their danger through networking between various entities.
The ITU-ARCC's workshop (Capacity Building Program on Critical National Infrastructure Protection to be held on 20 and 21 May 2015( , will be dedicated for the presentation of the latest developments and best practices in the international arena in the field of cybersecurity protection.
