A Fiber Optic Networks Training Center was inaugurated at the National Telecommunication Institute (NTI) premises in Smart Village. This is a center specialized in fiber optic networks installation, operation and maintenance that was established by the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) in cooperation with the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and NTI.
It comes in the context of implementation of the national strategy for digital transformation, that requires the availability of a broad fiber optic network and qualified human calibers that are capable of establishing, managing and maintaining such network, and providing after-operation services, in different governorates and cities. This comes within the framework of the national projects of creating digital systems and building new cities, as well as establishing the New Administrative Capital.
This center was opened by the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Amr Talaat and the opening ceremony was attended by NTRA's Acting Executive President Eng. Mustafa Abdul Wahid, NTI's Director Iman Ashour, ITIDA's CEO Hala El Gohary, MCIT officials, and ICT experts and executives of telecom companies. The new center comprises four specialized labs, equipped with the latest tools and advanced technologies, following the highest global standards in all stages of fiber optic networks installation, operation and maintenance, to emulate the actual working environment.
