NTRA Patricpates in EMERG's Workshop on QoS and Consumer Protection
As part of NTRA's active participation in EMERG meetings and events and within the framework of the Action Plan adopted by the organization in its annual general meeting that was held in Rome, Italy, in March 2017, EMERG will hold a workshop on "Quality of Service and Consumer Protection" on 26 and 27 September 2017 In Amman, Jordan.
The general meeting brought together the member states from Europe and the Southern Mediterranean countries, as well as representatives of the European Union. The European Union decided to continue funding the Network after the conclusion of the third phase of New Approaches for Telecommunications Policy (NATP III) program, as of January 2016 with the commencement of the 4-year project, knowing that it would take the necessary measures leading to its future independence.
The EU's interest in funding EMERG's activities an integral part of its interest in legal approximation in the telecom sectors of the Mediterranean region to the legal framework for the European telecommunication sectors, or at least the overall contribution to the development of regulations in the telecom sectors in the Mediterranean region. The members states voted on the topic: "Quality of Service and Consumer Protection" to be discussed at the workshop.
It should be noted that NTRA's participation in this significant event highlights Egypt's pioneering role in EMERG in particular and underscores the depth of its relationship with the EU in general. It is worth mentioning that NTRA's working team will prepare an all-inclusive report and presentation on the development of quality of service and consumer protection.
