The National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) will participate in the Smart City Expo World Congress that will be held in Barcelona, Spain, in the period from 14 to 16 November 2017. NTRA's participation comes as part of the State's approach to capacity- building and the enhancement of human resources specialized in fiber-optic communication networks and how to use them in the construction of smart cities in general, with reference to its role in developing technical visions for the architectures of the new communications infrastructure network in the new cities. This required cooperation with the Ministry of Housing represented in the New Urban Communities Authority as NTRA seeks to follow up the most significant developments in the construction of smart cities, the used techniques, as well as the experiences of other more developed countries and determine the different models used in building smart cities, and the latest technologies in this regard.
The conference is an important professional forum and a prominent platform for the exchange of ideas, networks and expertise as it brings together the highest levels of stakeholders and concerned parties in the field of urban development and technological growth in addition to the inter-relation between them in terms of utilization of technology to develop communities.
