Specialized Workshop on Children and Mobile Technology, Amman-Jordan
​​In the context of the activities of the Arab Regulators Network (AREGNET) and in cooperation with GSMA, Jordan Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) organized a Specialized Workshop on: Children and Mobile Technology on 10 and 11 May 2017 in cooperation with the Global System Mobile Association (GSMA) with the participation of operators, Internet service providers and officials from civil society organizations and representatives of the Arab regulatory bodies, including Egypt, represented by the Society Interaction Department. This workshop aims to define the concept of children protection children from the uses of ICT (mobile devices and the internet) in several aspects, especially in terms of social and cultural differences and the need for regulation in this area.

This importance of the participation of the Egyptian administration in this event lies in the emphasis on Egypt's leading and pioneering role as the NTRA's experience was presented in the workshop. The agenda of the workshop included several important topics, including: the implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child in a cohesive society, the concept of child's online protection, the safe and responsible use of ICT by children, and the optimal use of the media in raising awareness of this issue, and online sexual exploitation of the child.
