The Middle East Network Operators Group Conference (MENOG 17) was held in Muscat, Oman, in the period from 16 to 20 April 2017, with the attendance of experts from NTRA, as representative of the Egyptian Administration. MENOG 17 is considered one of the most esteemed global forums that bring together network operators, service operators, technology communities, scientific researchers and regulators. It is also a great opportunity to exchange and share expertise with the latest innovations.
It is worth mentioning that ICANN participates in this important event as it holds a workshop that aims to build and secure DNS, DNSSEC and Internet Exchange Points (IXP). In fact, NTRA's delegation received commendation and praise from the ICANN organization through participating in training the workshop participants. This was one of the main achievements and outputs of the event. Moreover, the attendants were made familiar with the main obstacles that face the Internet operators and the technical recommendations to be considered by the Egyptian side in order to take part in their elimination. In addition, the attendants exchanged expertise in the domain and networking industry.
