A high-level NTRA delegation, led by Dr. Amr Badawi, took part in the proceedings of the Mobile World Congress, which was held in Barcelona in the period from 16 to 19 February 2009.
The meeting is considered one of the annual milestones that gather different stakeholders from public and private sectors, interested in the mobile industry.
The Mobile World Congress this year addressed means of developing mobile networks, the latest editions of mobiles and e-money related issues through showcasing different countries' and companies' best practices.
The NTRA signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with its Brazilian counterpart; the National Telecommunication Agency (ANATEL), covering several vital programs and objectives that would help increase the exchange of expertise between both entities in areas of legal rapprochement, frequency spectrum, access, Internet Governance issues and other technical aspects.
It is worth mentioning in this regard that the NTRA has also signed in November 2008 a twinning agreement with its Italian and German counterparts with the aim of enhancing the NTRA human capacity potential and making best use of EU related programs.
