Eng. Mustafa Abdul Wahid as Acting Executive President of the NTRA
Eng. Khaled Negm, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, appointed Eng. Mustafa Abdul Wahid as Acting Executive President of the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA), in succession to Eng. Hisham El-Alaily former NTRA's Executive President - whose two-year term has expired on July 17th, 2015.
Type Approval Fees
It is decided after the NTRA board approval to change the Type Approval fees according to the attached table and these changes will be applied starting from the first of May 2015

Telecom Consumers' & Services Survey
NTRA conducts tracking surveys with different telecom consumers in the Egyptian Market, to obtain their assessment of the provided services. NTRA will start publishing the comparison reports on the website.

Egypts Participation in IPv6week
Within the framework of the preparation to face the depletion of IPv4 address, Egypt IPv6 Taskforce is currently participating in the proceedings and activities of the IPv6week. In this momentous regional event, many tests will take place and will be carried out by international experts to measure the efficiency of network devices, servers and computers operating with IPv6 address in the IPv6 lab of the Egyptian taskforce, in addition to the measurement of the efficiency of the ISPs network providing service to IPv6 lab.

NTRA's Meeting with The Callers For The Internet Revolution
NTRA, headed by Eng. Hisham Elayly, the Executive President, convened yesterday with the callers for and representatives of the "Internet Revolution" (Eng. Moemn Hani Eng. Rami Isaac Eng. Islam Khaled Eng. Sharif Intisar Mr. Mohamed Sayed) with the attendance of General Atef Jacob, Head of the Consumer Protection Agency and member of the NTRA's Consumers Rights Protection Committee (CRPC) in addition to some members of the Committee. The meeting dealt with the debate on the most important obstacles and problems facing youth in online services, with regard to the quality of service, prices or customer service provided by ISPs.

Research and Development activities
NTRA's R&D department was established in 2007 with key objectives of supporting national research activities in the area of telecommunications, watching for and keeping pace with emerging telecom technologies and applications, and bridging the gap between academic activities and technical developments from one perspective and policy visions and market needs from another.

World Consumer Rights Day (WCRD)
The protection of the rights of telecom services users is considered one of of the most significant mandates of special concern to the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) that considers it a national duty.
General Rules of Customers Rights Protection
Within the framework of the keenness of National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) to activate the provisions of Telecom Regulation Law No. 10/ 2003 and continue carrying out its mandate to supervise, regulate and support the telecom sector in compliance with the protection of free competition, investments and customers' rights, and pursuant to the provisions of articles (2/4), (5/6), (13/7), (18/2), (25/7) and (19) of the said Law with regard to the NTRA's competence to take all the necessary actions for the protection of telecom services users. This takes place through setting up the rules that ensure such protection as setting up such rules is considered part and parcel of the NTRA's core mandate.
"Know Your Rights" Awareness Campaign
It is the core mission of the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) to spread the culture of "Rights & Duties" within the ICT sector. It exerts all efforts to consolidate the relations with the civil society organizations as a nucleus of fruitful cooperation between them that aims to raise the consumer's awareness of various telecom services. Within the framework of its keenness to carry out its mandate, the NTRA has launched an awareness Campaign under the slogan "Know Your rights".

Egypt to Host the 16th Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR), May 2016
Within the framework of the global acknowledgement of its pioneering role model in the field of telecom regulation in the region, Egypt, represented in the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA), has been selected to host the 16th Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR) affiliated to the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) in May 2016. This took place during the participation of Eng. Hesham El Alaily, NTRAs Executive President, 15th Global Symposium for Regulators will take place in Libreville, Gabon.
NTRA, is participating in ITU-R Study Group 1 (SG1) Plenary Meeting
NTRA, chaired by Mr. Dr. El-Sayed Azouz, is participating in the work of ITU-R Study Group 1 (SG1) Plenary Meeting in the period from 11 to 12 June 2015 in Geneva, Switzerland. In fact, SG1 is responsible for the development of principles and techniques that help attain efficient spectrum management and the development of economic approaches to national spectrum management.

Within the framework of cooperation between National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) and the Arab Academy for Science Technology & Maritime Transport (AASTMT), a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Eng. Hesham El Alaily's, NTRAs Executive President and Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar, Academys Chairman.
Hosting of Regional Cyber Drill ALERT for Arab region
National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA), in collaboration with Oman National Computer Emergency Readiness Team (OCERT) and ITU Arab Regional Cybersecurity Center (ITU-ARCC) are hosting the Regional Cyber Drill ALERT (Applied Learning for Emergency Response Teams) third edition for Arab Region in in Hurghada, Egypt in the period from 17 to 19 May 2015. In addition, ITU-ARCC conducts a Regional Workshop on Critical National Infrastructure Protection on 20 and 21 May 2015 in the same venue.
NTRA to participate in TU-T's SG13: Focus Group on Future Networks to Convene
Within the framework of the ITU-T activities and events, Focus Group (SG13) on Future Networks including cloud computing, mobile and next-generation networks will convene in the period from 19 to 24 April, 2015 in Geneva, Switzerland.

3rd Arab Coordination Meeting for the Digital Terrestrial Television Service in the Arab Region
A delegation headed by NTRA participated in 3rd Arab Coordination Meeting for the Digital Terrestrial Television Service in the Arab Region that was held in the period from 13 to 16 April 2015, in Marrakech. Morocco. The Meeting aims to complete the complete and finalize the preparatory and setup procedures for the coordination process in the Arab region on the digital terrestrial TV channels allocations and assignments.
NTRA participation in Smart Water Management events
Within the framework of ITU's activities, several events was organized such as, the 7th meeting of the Focus Group on Smart Sustainable Cities (FG-SSC), the Forum on 'Smart sustainable cities: a rising priority for decision-makers', and the 5th meeting of the Focus Group on Smart Water Management (FG-SWM) which was held in Reading, UK, in the period from 2 to 6 March 2015.
NTRA Signed a MoU memorandum with ITI
Eng. Hesham El Alaily, NTRA's Executive President and Eng. Heba Saleh, Institute of Information Technology (ITI) Chairwoman signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that aims to enhance and strengthen mutual cooperation in training and capacity building of calibers and personnel operating in domain names industry.
