NTRA evaluating technical offers
|
The National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) sent letters to the allied entities that applied for the license of the 3rd Mobile Network in Egypt to clarify issues contained in their offers. This was after the technical committee, which was formed by NTRA, had made a preliminary survey of the offers. The committee is currently conducting a detailed evaluation of all offers submitted on 4 May 2006.

Until Monday, April 3rd, 2006, 21 companies bought the third mobile operator specifications handbook for 25,000 US dollars for each.

Etisalat Won the Third Mobile Operator Auction
|
NTRA board presided by Dr. Tarek Kamel the CIT minister, approved the results of the third mobile operator auction, which was won by the consortium of Emirates Telecommunications corporation (ETC) Etisalat, the National Postal Authority of Egypt, the National Bank of Egypt and the Commercial International Bank.

The consortium led by etisalat won the auction supervised by the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) and Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology to operate Egypt’s third mobile network license. The decision was announced opting for the etisalat consortium’s offer for both 2G and 3G licenses.
