After Qualifying in the Technical Offer:
etisalat Further Strengthens Its Position as Region's Telecom Leader after Impressively Winning Egypt’s Third Mobile Network License
The consortium led by etisalat won the auction supervised by the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) and Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology to operate Egypt’s third mobile network license. The decision was announced opting for the etisalat consortium’s offer for both 2G and 3G licenses.
This decision effectively clears the way for etisalat’s rapid mobile expansion in the region, its provision of enhanced customer services and the transfer of its enabling technologies to the largest market in the region.
The success of the consortium further consolidates etisalat’s position as the leading telecommunications operator in the region. It also marks a huge leap forward for its strategy of rolling out its cutting edge technologies and premium services across the region.
“We were very confident in Egypt as a place for investment and were very sure that the process of the new licensing and the final decision will be in favor of the offer that will best serve the Egyptian customer and we would like to thank the NTRA and MOICT for the transparency and commitment in the selection process. We are very delighted and honored that the decision was in favor of our consortium proposal.” commented Eng. Mohammed Hassan Omran, Chairman, etisalat.
