  CRPC \ Emergency Numbers in a Mobile Handset's Directory \

Pursuant to the ITU-T Recommendation E. 123 (issued by the Study Group of ITU's Standardization Sector) concerning the above-mentioned topic, it has been stipulated the usage of a standardized language-independent way (unified regionally and internationally) of listing of phone numbers of emergency contacts in a mobile handset's directory in case of an emergency. This aims to facilitate to others dialing the number of a next-of-kin (or emergency contact) as enlisted in the handset's directory of a person who is a victim of accidents or has lost consciousness.

This will take place through a standardized language-independent way (unified regionally and internationally) of listing of the names of the person's contacts as follows:

0nX

Where:

'0': is a zero number that makes the names of such contacts appear at the beginning of the directory;

'n': represents a digit from 1 through 9 ( according to the multiplicity of emergency numbers selected by the mobile handset holder;

And 'x': represents the name of the called person (such as home, spouse, son, hospital, etc.).

Hence, when anyone with an injured person opens his mobile handset's directory, he will find at the beginning of that directory the following:

Number                 Name
0212345678         01 Home
0202345678         02 Wife
0287654321         03 Doctor

The NTRA calls on all citizens to implement immediately the above-mentioned proposal in order to preserve their security and lives. In case there is any inquiry, they should call 155 (the NTRA's hotline).
