Egypts Participation in IPv6week
Within the framework of the preparation to face the depletion of IPv4 address, Egypt IPv6 Taskforce is currently participating in the proceedings and activities of the IPv6week. In this momentous regional event, many tests will take place and will be carried out by international experts to measure the efficiency of network devices, servers and computers operating with IPv6 address in the IPv6 lab of the Egyptian taskforce, in addition to the measurement of the efficiency of the ISPs network providing service to IPv6 lab.

H.E. Eng. Atef Helmy, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, welcomed the announcement by the U.S. National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), issued on Friday, 14 March 2014.
NTRA's Meeting with The Callers For The Internet Revolution
NTRA, headed by Eng. Hisham Elayly, the Executive President, convened yesterday with the callers for and representatives of the "Internet Revolution" (Eng. Moemn Hani Eng. Rami Isaac Eng. Islam Khaled Eng. Sharif Intisar Mr. Mohamed Sayed) with the attendance of General Atef Jacob, Head of the Consumer Protection Agency and member of the NTRA's Consumers Rights Protection Committee (CRPC) in addition to some members of the Committee. The meeting dealt with the debate on the most important obstacles and problems facing youth in online services, with regard to the quality of service, prices or customer service provided by ISPs.
Press Release on The Unified Telecom license
NTRA's Board of Directors chaired by H.E. Eng. Atef Helmy, Minister of Communications and Information Technology. The BoD member discussed several issues related to telecom sector development and the future vision thereof the sector. In fact, they issued several resolutions and decisions, on top of which came the Unified Telecom license system.
NTRA Has Not & Will Never Interfere in the SMS Content
Some mass media outlets and social networking sites have been recently circulating information and data about the NTRA's issuance of instructions to the telecom companies providing individual and Bulk SMS services to block or bar the SMSs that contain certain political words.
The Supreme Administrative Court Ruling On Interconnection Rates Lawsuit
The Supreme Administrative Court decided on the Urgent Matters of the lawsuit filed by Mobinil to reject the challenge of the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) on the ruling to stay the execution of the NTRA's decision concerning the resolution of disputes arising from interconnection between Mobinil and Telecom Egypt. The Administrative Court has not decided yet the merits of the case.
Egypt to Host the First Workshop for CyberSecurity Researches Under the Auspices of NTRA
Under the auspices of the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA), the first Workshop for CyberSecurity Researches will be held in Egypt in the period from 27 to 30 May 2013 at the Smart Village. This Workshop aims to discuss the latest researches and developments taking place in the field of cybersecurity as research papers on various fields related to CyberSecurity will be submitted in it.

World Consumer Rights Day (WCRD)
The protection of the rights of telecom services users is considered one of of the most significant mandates of special concern to the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) that considers it a national duty.
General Rules of Customers Rights Protection
Within the framework of the keenness of National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) to activate the provisions of Telecom Regulation Law No. 10/ 2003 and continue carrying out its mandate to supervise, regulate and support the telecom sector in compliance with the protection of free competition, investments and customers' rights, and pursuant to the provisions of articles (2/4), (5/6), (13/7), (18/2), (25/7) and (19) of the said Law with regard to the NTRA's competence to take all the necessary actions for the protection of telecom services users. This takes place through setting up the rules that ensure such protection as setting up such rules is considered part and parcel of the NTRA's core mandate.
"Know Your Rights" Awareness Campaign
It is the core mission of the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) to spread the culture of "Rights & Duties" within the ICT sector. It exerts all efforts to consolidate the relations with the civil society organizations as a nucleus of fruitful cooperation between them that aims to raise the consumer's awareness of various telecom services. Within the framework of its keenness to carry out its mandate, the NTRA has launched an awareness Campaign under the slogan "Know Your rights".
NTRA to Host "VSAT and Satellite Systems For Arab Countries" Workshop
Within the framework of the activities of ITU Radio communication Sector (ITU-R), NTRA, the Egyptian Regulatory Authority, is honored to host and organize a workshop on "VSAT and Satellite Systems For Arab Countries" in collaboration with ITU and the International Telecommunications Satellite Organization (ITSO) in the period from 21 to 25 September 2014 at Novotel Cairo 6th Of October.
NTRA Attended The Joint LAS-ITU Seminar
NTRA participated in the Joint LAS-ITU Seminar on outcomes of the World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA-12) and the World Conference of the International Telecommunication (WCIT-12) on 2 and 3 September 2013, in Rabat, Morocco. This seminar is organized by ITU in collaboration with the Technical Secretariat of the Council of Arab Ministers of ICT at the Arab League.
NTRA to Visit KSA among a High-Level Ministerial Thereto
In the context of NTRA's continuous efforts to promote ways of cooperation with KSA in the field of communications and information technology, NTRA's delegation headed by Eng. Hisham El-Alayli, NTRA's Executive President, will visit Saudi Arabia among a high-level ministerial delegation during the period from 8 to 9 September 2013.
Arab Telecommunications and Information Council of Ministers (ATICM)s 16th session
Within the framework of the proceedings of the meeting of the Arab Telecommunications and Information Council of Ministers (ATICM)s 16th session that was wound up on 5 June 2012 in Wahran, Algeria, Egypt and Algeria were elected members of ATICMs Executive Office in addition to the member states of Troika. These member states are as follows: Qatar, Palestine, KSA, Sudan, Iraq, and Somalia. In addition, Egypt was elected president of ATICMs Executive Office, and Qatar was elected Vice-President thereof.
