The National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) hosted the 9th Roundtable Meeting for Arab Governments and Regulatory Authorities, held under the theme “Enhancing Regional Integration in Internet Infrastructure and Governance.” The meeting was organized in cooperation with RIPE NCC, and attended by Eng. Mohamed Shamroukh, CEO of the NTRA, along with the CEOs of the telecom regulatory bodies of Lebanon, Libya, and Sudan. Representatives from Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Tunisia, and the UAE also participated, in addition to members of the ITU Regional Office, AFRINIC, and the Arab League.

In his opening remarks, Eng. Mohamed Shamroukh emphasized the NTRA’s ongoing commitment to supporting and hosting key Arab events in the field of telecommunications, as this contributes to unifying Arab perspectives and exchanging expertise in digital transformation. During the meeting, the NTRA announced the launch of a training initiative for Arab professionals on the IPv6 Internet Protocol, aimed at enhancing and expanding its deployment. The Authority also extended an invitation to members of RIPE NCC, AFRINIC, and the Arab League to maximize the benefits of this initiative at both the Arab and regional levels.
