Fixed internet service providers are obliged to regularly inform subscribers of their consumption for free – declares NTRA
 7 March 2021

The National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA) obligates fixed connectivity service providers to inform users of the contracted internet package’s size, via free SMS. Such SMS will be regularly sent to the user’s phone number, registered within the operator’s network, at least 3 times per month upon the 50%, 75%, and 100% consumption of the package.

To this end, NTRA calls out the telecommunication users to make sure their data are updated with their mobile phone number registered within the fixed internet service operator’s network, to guarantee timely delivery for consumption tracking SMS. Generally, this decision comes within another series of decisions made by NTRA in the frame of preserving the telecommunication service user rights and keeping them informed of all service details.
