Within the framework of the efforts exerted by the NTRA’s Egyptian Computer Emergency Readiness Team (EG-CERT) to monitor cyber attacks and keep abreast of the lastest advancements worldwide, EG-CERT shall participate in 31st annual FIRST Conference organized by the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST) and Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) that will be held in Edinburgh, Scotland, in the period from 16 to 21 June , 2019. FIRST is a global nonprofit organization that brings together a variety of security and incident response teams. It consists of more than 450 teams from over 80 countries representing government agencies, academia, companies and corporates and aims to facilitate and enhance communication and information exchange between the teams and the global community as a whole, and to reinforce cooperation and coordination in the hindrance of cybersecurity accidents in particular.
The Forum includes several sessions that will discuss current cybersecurity issues and latest global developments on the fight against cybersecurity, and tackle ways of joint cooperation against the emergent challenges in this field as well as the best means to respond to cyber attacks. The Forum provides a practical chance to explore the daily challenges in IT security. This event also offers the significant considerations to be taken concerning the efficacy of existing IT security systems in order to boost communication, teams building and IT emergency response capabilities, ensuring constant efforts that address cyberthreats through national information emergency response centers in Africa.
It should be noted that EG-CERT has been providing support to various centers and entities ain the ICT, banking and government sectors to help them cope with and eliminate cybersecurity threats.
