Egypt, represented by the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA), headed the Arab Regional Meeting of ITU-T Study Group 3 held on April 20, 2021. The meeting discussed a variety of topics for restructuring the Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) and arranging the World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA) expected to be held in 2022. Furthermore, the meeting undertook some topics of interest in the Arab world; most importantly, online apps (OTTS) and Digital Financial Inclusion. It was agreed during the meeting to create Arab contributions during the General Meeting of ITU-T Study Group 3 in upcoming May. It is worth noting that ITU-T Study Group 3 is the main entity responsible for Tariff, billing and regulatory affairs in ITU. The Group is also considered a unique international assembly to discuss and study the international financial as well as economic aspects in regard to the growth of telecom markets.
