The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Egypt (NTRA) issued directives to mobile operators in Egypt’s market to grant subscribers free international minutes to specific brotherly Arab countries. By virtue of these directives, each subscriber will receive five international minutes free of charge, that can be used to call: the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

This initiative comes as part of NTRA’s commitment to enabling citizens to check on and strengthen continuous communication with their family members abroad, particularly in countries experiencing critical conditions due to the ongoing events.

NTRA also affirms that it will continue monitoring regional developments and take necessary regulatory measures in coordination with mobile operators to ensure citizens are supported and have access to effective and secure communication services.
