Within the framework of NTRA’s effective participation in the activities of the Euro-Mediterranean Regulators Group (EMERG) and the Egyptian regulator’s active role in establishing the Group’s self-administration system, NTRA is participating in EMERG’s Benchmarking Conference/ Contact Network meeting held in Frankfurt, Germany on 4 and 5 February 2020. This meeting comes as an implementation of the action plan adopted at EMERG’s annual plenary meeting that was held in Sarajevo – Bosnia and Herzegovina in March 2019.

The European Union decided to continue funding EMERG by the end of the third phase of “New Approaches to Telecommunications” Project (NATP III) in January 2016, as the fourth phase of the project (NATP IV) was launched for four years so that it could take the needed steps that eventually leads to its independence in the future. During this meeting, the network’s annual report will be discussed. The attending experts will approve the schedule of the workshops and the preparatory works for the network’s plenary meeting, to be held in March 2020 in Amman-Jordan.
