Within the framework of governing telecommunication services in Egypt, the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) issues the necessary guidelines for the licensee on how to use the frequency spectrum to provide these services to citizens. These guidelines aim at maximizing the economic and social benefits of the spectrum utilization and increasing the efficiency of its use by terrestrial and satellite radio systems. In addition to maximizing the return from the use of orbital slots by Egyptian and foreign satellites providing their services over the territory of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
